Unter dem Titel “Epidemiology and treatment barriers of patients with erectile dysfunction using an online prescription platform: a cross-sectional study” (2020) veröffentlicht Spring in einer Forschungskooperation mit der Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität München die weltweit erste wissenschaftliche Studie zur Erkrankung der erektilen Dysfunktion auf Basis telemedizinischer Daten. Die Studie wird von dem renommierten Fachjournal Sexual Medicine publiziert.
"Diese Studie geht weit über die epidemiologische Charakterisierung der Patientenkohorte mit erektiler Dysfunktion von Spring hinaus. Sie zeigt anhand der wissenschaftlichen Auswertung von medizinischen Daten von ca. 11.000 Patienten, wie online Plattformen die Versorgungsforschung auf ein höheres Niveau katapultieren können. Zukünftig werden wir weitere Studien mit weit höheren Patientenzahlen durchführen, um ein detailliertes Verständnis zur Effektivität und Sicherheit der von unseren Ärzten eingesetzten Behandlungen für unterschiedliche Risikogruppen generieren zu können. Des Weiteren arbeiten wir daran die Patienten zu identifizieren, die trotz einer ersten Versorgung durch eine Online-Verschreibungs-Plattform (OPP) einen Termin bei einem ortsansässigen Arzt wahrnehmen sollten."
